Raaj Completes UN Women Program

Our teammate Raaj just completed the 6-month Professional Development Program for Gender Trainers organized by UN Women and the KIT Royal Tropical Institute of the Netherlands.

Raaj (Rajkumari Nimbale) was one of the 21 gender trainers selected by UN Women and KIT in 2022 for this advanced training. Raaj and her classmates attended 5 months of classes online; then they met in Amsterdam for the last week of classes and evaluations.

“The program sharpened my understanding of gender and development.”, says Raaj. “Our mentors really challenged us to reflect more deeply on concepts we thought we already knew. It is a privilege to learn from such wonderful minds.”

Raaj’s fellow participants came from around the world – from Mexico to Indonesia, and Norway to Mozambique. Learning from her classmates, she says, was the other highlight of the program for her.

Our team has been following Raaj’s journey, as she excitedly discussed what she was learning. Last month, she applied those learnings to design a new session on intersectionality and disasters for a workshop we facilitated.

Congratulations Raaj! May your trainings get even better with the benefit of this course.
