Amitha Santiago has dedicated 30 years to higher education. She completed her doctoral research, “The Gospel According to Babylon”: A Critique of White Christian Theology through Select Texts from the Caribbean – towards Self-Definition in the Caribbean, exploring themes of identity and theological critique. Following her doctorate, she was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship by Hong Kong University, where she focused on New Approaches to the Study of Religion in South Asia.
A member of the European Association of South Asian Studies (University of Paris), Dr. Santiago has published extensively in the fields of Religious Studies, Critical Theory, Gender Studies, Postcolonial Studies, and Dalit Studies. Her leadership experience includes serving as Dean of Post Graduate Studies at Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Post Graduate Centre and as Principal of United Mission PU & Degree College. Beyond her academic contributions, she is an accomplished poet, songwriter, and emerging artist. She currently serves as the Director of Transformational Educational Initiatives at Visthar, Bangalore.
